USAID Accords $4m to Schools Affected by Flood

Islamabad, Deputy Mission Director, USAID and Secretary of Education signed a Memorandum of Understanding worth $4 million. The main objective of this donation is to re-establish and restore hundreds of schools which have been ravaged by the flood in many cities of Sindh.
Education Secretary has said that their government is obliged to the USAID for granting huge amount which will be consumed on the construction works of devastated schools and books and stationery will be provided to the poor students to carry on their studies. Executive Committee of National Economic Council has accorded approval to Sindh Basic Education Program for providing funds of $155 million from SBEP funds $165 million for uplifting the standard of education in all government schools in Sindh.
The Deputy Mission Director of USAID has said that they hope that this amount will be used for the restoration of all government schools and special attention will be given to raise the standard of education in schools spreading in remote areas of Sindh. The children who are getting education in these educational institutes will play important role in the economic and social development of our country.
